Kuyper Preparatory Building New Website

February 18, 2009

With our continued growth and expansion here at Kuyper Preparatory, we decided it was time to update our web presence. Scheduled to launch late February, our new website will be easier to navigate and contain all the valuable information about our school you’re currently able to access. The new site also features a downloadable calendar of events to keep you abreast of any upcoming events and functions. Additionally, we’ve made a new introductory video for the website, as you may have heard from your child.

We encourage you to keep an eye out for the updated website and show it to those who have a child who would benefit from the grounded and proven education offered at Kuyper Preparatory School.

Kuyper Preparing for Spring

February 16, 2009

In order to create a safer and cleaner environment for our students, Kuyper recently made some landscaping improvements to our campus grounds. Done by Homestead Tree Service, the work entailed the removal of approximately 25 dead or dying trees and general cleanup of fallen branches. We are pleased with the results and will continue to work towards making our campus one that enriches the lives of our students while being safe for them to enjoy.

KPS Students Score High on Stanford 10 Achievement Test

June 6, 2008

In our recent Stanford 10 Achievement testing, Kuyper Preparatory School students on average tested higher than three-fourths of the nation, ranking our students among the best and the brightest in the country this year. Many of our students consistently hit the ninetieth percentile, with our highest scores coming in math and language. A few even scored in the top one percent in the nation.

All grade levels at Kuyper ranked above the national norm and national average, an impressive feat for a school that has only been serving the community for four years. Sandy Haga, the director of New Life Christian Schools International, said "the students there did really well. There were several that had some of the highest test scores that we have seen in our twenty plus years of scoring tests." This is a great feat for our first year of testing. At Kuyper, we go the extra mile to make sure our students have the most excellent learning environment possible and the test scores show that we are on the right track. We look forward to even greater results over the next several years.

"We are extremely proud of the recent results," says Donald Hamer, who founded the school in May, 2004. "We're very grateful for the outstanding efforts of the students, teachers, and parents. We also thank the many private business, professional groups and individuals have provided financial support through fund-raising activities and direct contributions to the school." Kuyper continues to become well known for our safe environment that allows students to achieve excellence academically and spiritually.

The Stanford Ten Achievement Test which covers reading, mathematics, language, spelling, listening, science and social science, has been used by educators for more than 80 years. It compares schools, individual grade levels and each student nationwide in public, Christian and private systems.
